I'm happy to announce that all eight of the Blackbirds at 79 New Montgomery sold out. There have also been inquiries about commissions, and whether or not I have any other Blackbirds in my possession. I have two. Blackbirds #9 and #10 are still available for purchase, and are in the process of being framed.
One more reception down! Now it's time to relax and upload all the pictures. "Follow Through" had a solid First Thursday turnout. Within the first hour we ran out of food, sketch postcards, and two of my Blackbirds had sold.
I'd also like to thank everyone at 79, and fellow artist Geoff Meyer, for their collaborative efforts to pull this show together. It was really difficult at first (as a couple of the artists dropped out), but in the end it came through. "Follow Through" was really about following through; thanks for making it happen!

The "Missing Time" reception at Mars Bar has come and gone, but for the people who missed out, there are photos! A few, anyway.
I'd also like to thank everyone who stopped by to check out the show, and thank Mars for setting aside several bottles of wine for us (I think we got through most of them).
On a more personal note, it's exhilarating showing a body of work in one space, and I'm truly grateful. Until now it's been one piece here or there in group shows, but never everything together. The reception at Studio went off without a hitch, and I'd like to personally thank everyone for coming. I'd also like to thank Jennifer and Rab Terry for allowing me to shoot some photos for the blog.
I am also thrilled and pleased to announce that the paintings I had in the show sold out quickly, even before the reception. Unfortunately, if you stopped by specifically to see them, they had already left with their collector (I admit, it was a little strange being at my own reception without my work!).
And, just for kicks, I'm going to throw in this one of artists James Lee and Troy Nowak, who were also showing tonight in "Delicious". Somehow this pic reminds me of Sailor Moon.. maybe it's the hand gestures?
It didn't look like a lot of people when I first got there, but people were in and out so much it picked up and got crowded very quickly.

And a photo of the cake. There were also some yummy creme puffs, cheese, and fruit. Wine too, of course. :D
This show will up through December, and there's a ton of stuff to see, and all different mediums (photography, encaustics, jewelry.. besides paintings and drawings). The cool thing about this show is that it's also different every time you visit. It's constantly rotating and evolving. I've personally enjoyed seeing all the different works, and seeing what some of my artist friends have been up to. :)Labels: bottle caps, finished work, pencil drawing, small works, studio gallery, tiny show, wedding ring, works on paper.
